Fate of isoproturon in two heavy metal contaminated soils in a microcosm experiment.
Fresen. Environ. Bull. 9, 691-700 (2000)
Soils from two environmentally and pedologically similar sites, but with different levels of Pb, Zn, and Cd contamination were selected to investigate the degradation of isoproturon in microcosm experiment using C-14 technique. Difference in total pesticide-mineralizations was not observed, whereas differences in the amount of bound pesticide residues and distribution of 14C compounds in the soil profiles were found. Initial and final composition of the microbial communities were determined by phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA) and 16/18s rDNA fingerprinting.
