Sensitivity limits of biomarker imaging by multi-spectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT).

We investigate detection capacity and physical limits of molecular imaging with optoacoustics by simulating signals originating from  absorbing objects in biological media. The results are experimentally validated by visualizing a common near-infrared fluorescent molecular agent.
