Chronic respiratory diseases are one of the most common causes of death globally. Biomimetic lung-on-chip (Lung Chip) technologies, as powerful preclinical in vitro models, have been developed to mimic the physiological conditions of human lungs. Lung Chips are rapidly emerging as the most promising and feasible alternative to animal experimentation in pharmaceutical research. Herein, I briefly present the latest advancements in Lung Chips, as well as our contributions to this field of research.
