On the background of a discipline overlapping research project of the "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft" (DFG), entitled: Pollutants in ground water, the behaviour of PAHs and triazine herbicides during the water gathering process by means of underground passage was investigated. The publication is divided into four parts (I-IV). In the present part the area of investigation including the monitoring network and the determination methods for PAHs and triazine herbicides in the aqueous matrix are described.
