The 2 Ugandan cases of slim disease reported here fulfill all the criteria for AIDS and can be described as cases of AIDS-associated cryptosporidial enteritis. Neither patient belonged to a known AIDS risk group. Amenorrhoea has been reported to be a marker for the onset of AIDS in females from Zaire. Among AIDS patients in Rwanda 2 had Cryptosporidium enteritis.
