Similar to AAS in flames, one of the most important factors in ICP-spectroscopy is the production of a suitable aerosol from the sample solution. The aim of this paper was, to investigate the influences of different acids and their different concentrations to the measured signal, by the example of Cu determination. A pneumatic and an ultrasonic nebulizer were applied. Sometimes strong differences as a function of the density of the solution could be observed.
