The adoptive transfer of receptor-modified HBV-specific T cells is a promising approach to treat chronic hepatitis B. T cells grafted with a chimeric antigen receptor targeting HBV surface proteins (S-CAR) efficiently control HBV replication in HBV-transgenic mice. This study provides a detailed analysis of the fate and phenotypic changes of S-CAR T cells upon adoptive transfer, as well as the evaluation of potential side effects and the direct comparison to similar therapy approaches.
Der adoptive Transfer von Rezeptor-modifizierten, HBV-spezifischen T-Zellen ist ein vielversprechender Ansatz für die Behandlung der chronischen Hepatitis B. Die Virusreplikation in HBV-transgenen Mäusen wird durch T-Zellen, die einen chimären Rezeptor gegen HBV Oberflächenproteine (S-CAR) tragen, effizient unterdrückt. In dieser Arbeit wurden das Langzeit-Überleben, der Phänotyp und mögliche Nebenwirkungen von S-CAR Zellen in vivo analysiert. Zudem wurden ähnliche Therapieansätze geprüft.
