Psychokardiologische Aspekte bei Vorhofflimmern.

Vorhofflimmern ist eine komplexe biopsychosoziale Systemerkrankung mit zum Teil erheblicher negativer Auswirkung auf die Lebensqualität. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist der Zusammenhang zwischen Herzrhythmus, Symptomen, Kognitionen, Affekt, Biografie, sozioökonomischem und funktionellem Status der Patienten noch nicht vollständig verstanden. Wesentlichen Einfluss haben unzureichendes Wissen und Verständnis über die Rhythmusstörung mit erheblichem Effekt auf das Erleben von Disstress und die Exazerbation der Symptome beziehungsweise die Ressourcen zur Krankheitsbewältigung. Psychotherapeutische Konzepte für die bei bis zu einem Drittel der Betroffenen entstehende Depressivität oder Angst fehlen bislang. Ein tieferes Verständnis für die Bedeutung des Kohärenzgefühls für die Verbesserung der Lebensqualität und Resilienz könnte zur Entwicklung psychotherapeutischer Optionen bei Patienten mit Vorhofflimmern beitragen.
Psychocardiological aspects of atrial fibrillationAtrial fibrillation is a complex biopsychosocial systemic disease, often with negative impact on quality of life. The relationship between prevailing heart rhythm, symptoms, cognitions, emotions, biography, socioeconomic and functional status of the patients is only partly understood. Patients’ incomplete knowledge and understanding about the rhythm disorder is of substantial importance for the feeling of distress, exacerbation of symptoms or coping strategies, respectively. Depression or anxiety range up to one third of the patients. Psychotherapeutic concepts for patients with atrial fibrillation are lacking. A deeper understanding of the importance of the sense of coherence for health related quality of life and resilience may help to develop psychotherapeutic options.
