A thin-walled parallel-plate ionization chamber with high bandwidth is described by means of which (using O2 filling) the presentation of the beam time profile of linear accelerator pulses of a few 10 ns duration is achieved. Filled with air the chamber can be used for the presentation of μm pulses. The intensity limits and the time resolution of the method are discussed.
