We develop novel methods for the analysis of temporal data from molecular biological systems. They are used to answer research questions for which either no appropriate method exists or the developed methods fail to use the fully available information contained in the data. These new tools are statistically motivated and evaluated via simulations. Furthermore, we develop corresponding software packages. Finally, real-world applications reveal novel insight into the studied biological systems.
Die Arbeit beschreibt die Entwicklung von Methoden zur Analyse von Zeitdaten aus biologischen Molekularsystemen. Hierbei untersuchen wir Fragestellungen für die entweder keine passende Methode vorhanden ist oder existierende Methoden den vollen Informationsgehalt der Daten nicht verwenden. Die entwickelten Tools werden statistisch motiviert und mittels Simulationsstudien evaluiert. Zusätzlich entwickeln wir passende Softwarepakete. Anwendungen aus der Molekularbiologie werden ebenfalls erforscht.
